Safe Surrender Sites -Emergency Drop-Off Centers for Newborn Babies.
Designated locations where parents can safely and legally surrender their new borns within a certain timeframe after birth. These centers are typically hospitals, fire stations, or other medical facilities.
1. Hospitals: Many hospitals across California are designated Safe Surrender Sites. You can contact local hospitals to inquire about their Safe Surrender program and find out if they participate.
2. Fire Stations: Fire stations are often designated Safe Surrender Sites. They are typically staffed 24/7, making them accessible for parents in need of assistance.
3. Police Stations: Some police stations also participate in the Safe Surrender Program, providing a safe place for parents to surrender their newborns.
4. Child Welfare Agencies: Local child welfare agencies may also provide information on Safe Surrender Sites in your area and offer assistance to parents in crisis.
Please understand that these sites are not for children drop off.
Newborn Infants are willed within a certain age range (typically 72 hours old or younger). If you need assistance with older children, consider reaching out to local social services department or children care agencies for support.
